After Hours

Ten years ago I was tending bar and serving at brew pub in Seattle.

For anyone in their twenties restaurant work can be an exciting lifestyle. Work all night, unwind after hours, and sleep all day. Repeat four to seven times a week.

It was on one of these nights that me and a co-worker took the short walk down town after our shift to meet up with two of his friends. They were closing the restaurant where they worked and we got in just before they locked the doors.

We drank while they closed up. Technically we were customers and it wasn’t past last call. Once all the other customers had finally paid and left, we stayed on for an hour or so drinking and talking. Obviously I took some pictures. Mailed them prints sometime later. I’ve never seen them since. I don’t even remember their names.

What I do remember is that they were from opposite sides of the world, emigrated to Seattle and met working together. They fell in love. They were either engaged or already married, my memory is leaning towards married.

Sweet story though. It’s nice to think they are still out there together today.

These were shot on the Canon TX that belonged to L Miles.
