Plum #1

Plum #1 is not exactly a gateway to the wilderness, but it may turn out to be an adequate proving ground to learn Tenkara.

According to the WDFW website, both Salmon and Trout can be caught here.

Entrance to Plum #1

Just a ten minute drive from where I am right now, it is situated on the Snoqualmie River about a mile or so downstream of Snoqualmie Falls.

Trail to Plum #1

There is a short but steep rooted staircase that leads to the water’s edge.

Looking Downstream

Once the spring melt is over and the rain stops the flow of the river should lessen, and wading up the stream pictured below that meets the Snoqualmie here might be possible. On the other hand it could be difficult considering the private lands that surround the area.
